Hockey beats out cycling; baseball close behind

By cancelling the whole season, pro hockey beats out cycling in the competition to be the world's most incompetently run sport, at least for this year. And, cycling has finally figured out that fans find teams appealing.

Baseball is close in incompetence, but still has enough momentum and fan goodwill on its side. And I think Bud Selig is smart enough to know that velodrome time trials are a real buzz-kill of an Olympic sport, events that have zero hope of attracting a TV audience. If you can't find a way to make doped up sprinters confined to a narrow wooden velodrome appealing on TV, you really aren't trying.
