Apparently, instead of just withholding gifts from naughty kids, Santa puts them up on eBay so the kids know exactly what they're not getting.

Billy recommends Dojo Restaurant in the West Village

I think this—lots of food for cheap—is the one he is talking about because the other one has veggie tofu stuff you can get in California, and why would Billy send you there?

The Fry's Electronics of Singapore

Mustafa Centre, the Fry's Electronics of Singapore has its own hotel, travel agency, currency exchange, grocery store, and cafe where you can order teh halia! The elaborate procedures that seem to guard against fraud by employees as much as customers combined with indifferent customer service also remind me of Fry's.

I also found this Indian perspective interesting. Yes, there are a lot of Indians. The hotel is so that Indians there on business trips can spend their free time shopping for friends and relatives back home. I think Mustafa will be one of the first places I will go shopping once I get my own place in Singapore. It never occurred to me that maybe it's not where American expats spend much time. The cafe staff seemed not to understand "teh halia" with my American accent, so maybe they don't get a lot of us.

Christmas Carol Challenge

I recently helped my friend Todd with a Christmas carol collection for his work with friends from the Bloomington Community Band of Bloomington, Indiana.

He can probably do these puzzles by now.

Unfortunately, the band doesn't have an arrangement of Weird Al's "The Night Santa Went Crazy," where Santa goes into a drunken rampage, and the only question is if the surviving reindeer (Vixen and Donner) can actually be called lucky after witnessing such a grisly scene.

General Mills responds--four times!

Since I accidentally submitted my complaint to General Mills about the Splenda in Reduced Sugar Cocoa Puffs four times, I got four responses from General Mills. Do they really lack any means to handle multiple submissions? Do they really assign requests round-robin style so that my complaint was routed to four independent people? I hate to question whether these people really exist, but Gmail tagged these responses as spam, and so I didn't discover them immediately.

Printing postage

Related to the topic of 2D barcodes, I've found it to be really convenient to print postage and UPS labels for my latest eBay projects, and I just signed up for a trial of Endicia's on-line postage printing for envelopes and smaller items.
